For the adventurous spirit looking to answer the call of the wild, this wilderness lodge in the Northwest Territories offers a variety of all inclusive adventure packages to suit every taste. Accessible only by air, this fly-in facility is located in the rugged country north of Great Slave Lake and offers a truly remote wilderness experience while still offering all of the comforts of home.
During the summer season at this wilderness lodge, enjoy the natural surroundings and clean clear air while you explore the lake by canoe, kayak or motor boat. Hike nature's untouched garden and learn to identify our abundant variety of flora, fauna and animals. Sit in the tipi and listen to the legends and history of our native Dene people learn their crafts and traditions. Fish the lake then learn how to smoke your catch in the traditional native way. The solar heated lake is often warm enough for swimming, too! It's like summer camp without the rules.
The brief summer is a magical time at the lodge. The lake warms quickly, and all around the forest is bursting with new growth. At this lodge you'll find lake trout, northern pike and whitefish. Pickerel (walleye) can be fished on two adjoining lakes, Magrum and Grace Lake, a very short walkover from the lodge. The fishing guides can introduce you to the best techniques and make suggestions for maximizing you chances for success.
Winter months offer a different and exciting array of activities, such as cross-country skiing on over 20 km of groomed trails, snowshoeing, ice fishing, dog sledding, snowmobiling and more. Learn winter survival skills by building a quinzee snow hut or try your hand at ice sculpting. The aurora borealis (northern lights) often dance across the sky throughout the fall and winter months. They are one of God's greatest gifts to the north and they are perhaps the most spectacular natural phenomenon on earth.
