Explore and fish for salmon and halibut from this lodge in majestic Knight Inlet, BC. This lodge offers unparalleled saltwater fishing for all 5 salmon species and halibut. This is one of the most picturesque spots in North America. You are surrounded by snow-capped peaks rising vertically out of the blue-green glacial inlet, and fish by crashing waterfalls. You will watch bears grazing along the beach and bald eagles soaring overhead. Knight Inlet is a natural wonder, arguably the most scenic area on the British Columbia coast. Knight Inlet contains huge ice fields feeding multiple waterfalls, steep mountains rising vertically from the water's edge, misty bays, exciting rivers, and, most important, it is a superb fishing area.
Chinook Salmon (King Salmon, Spring Salmon) - The trophy salmon. These fish run 8 Lbs. to 75 Lbs. Locally. A trophy (over 30 Lbs.) is called a TYEE. The Kings range from feeders to record level 75 pound monsters, with halibut weighing up to 200 pounds. The experienced guides will lead you to great chinook salmon holes and hook you up with some big fish. Chinook are caught all season as are halibut, ling cod and rock fish.
The BC Pink Salmon or Chum Salmon are plentiful in this incredible wilderness fjord. The Pink Salmon is a smaller species but extremely plentiful. Great fun in the river and on light salt water fishing tackle.
Coho Salmon (Silver Salmon or "Silvers") - The jumpers. They run 5 lbs. to 24 Lbs. locally. The largest Coho, called Northerns, are caught August and September, the smaller ones in July and August.
Sockeye Salmon are also plentiful in this incredible wilderness fjord and the area also has some great river fishing for steelhead. There is an early Steelhead trip [April and May] for Steelhead often 20lb or better, plus a Salmon/Summer Steelhead combination starting the third week in July and running through August. This lodge is one of only two outfitters allowed to fish this wilderness river.
