Snowshoeing interpretive tours through the scenic Canadian Rocky Mountains

There is on better way to enjoy the winter beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains then on one of these interpretive snowshoeing tours.

These snow shoe tours are packed full of local history. The area you visit is where some of the Métis forefathers were guides and you are following in those traditions. This is a fun way to see the local area on snowshoes.Your skilled guide will give you a little history and useful information about snowshoes and snowshoeing from our Aboriginal culture. When you first meet your guide at the trail head, you will learn about the style of snow shoe you are using for the tour and what makes them so special in this particular terrain.

Tour highlights include:

Tracking – Our ancestry in this area was from both guides and trappers. As hunters and trappers we understood animals in a unique way, your guide will share fun and fascinating ways of determining the age of an animals track, what the animal was and if it is likely to return to the area.

Medicine – We love to share our knowledge of plant medicine with our guests, especially in the winter where it is thought that all the medicine is gone, but we’ll show you something different! In addition, we’ll talk about the food value of some of these plant medicines we discover!

Stories – We have historical stories as well as true historical accounts from our nation as well as our own family that is shared with our guests.
