Customize your own multi-day cycling tour on the Kettle Valley Railway in BC's Okanagan

These multi-day cycling trip along the historic Kettle Valley Railway are designed to showcase the best the Okanagan Valley has in culinary, culture, flora, fauna, history and vistas. You will pedal through the famous tunnels and trestles the area is known for and explore the local vineyards and wineries.

Located in the south central region of British Columbia, you will bike the rail bed of the once productive Kettle Valley Railway.  Bike through tunnels, cross over bridges and be treated to magnificent scenery. Cycle along cascading rivers, tranquil lakes and through pristine valleys and canyons delightfully decorated with farms, orchards and vineyards.  You will have the opportunity to encounter a vast array of birds and wildlife, while enjoying some of the best biking trails in Canada.  With rails and ties removed, a grade less than 3% is ideal for the novice to advanced rider.

You will explore some of the regions historical attributes such as Beaverdell and the Myra Canyon. Other stops include McCulloch Lake, Chute Lake, Oliver, Chain Lake, Princeton and Penticton.  Most tours include a visit to local wine vineyards and wine tasting sessions. 

Tours can be customized to meet your requests and you can choose your own duration. Both guided and self-guided tours are possible. You can stay in one accommodation for the duration and do multiple day tours or you can arrange an inn inn trip along a specific route. Possibilities are endless as there are countless options to choose from in the area. Design your own route for the perfect cycling adventure vacation.

Cycling Tours

You have the option of arranging a guided or self-guided tour.


Prices are based on a minimum group size of 6 for guided tour. Minimum group size of 4 for self-guided tours. Smaller groups can also be accommodated.

Trips originate and end in either Kelowna or Penticton, BC. 


The Okanagan is known for its warm and sunny summer weather. Summer temperatures average between 20 and 33 degrees Celsius.

Accommodations are in quality lodges and resorts. These can range from basic to 4 star facilities. 



Full meals and snacks included ranging in style from home cooking to pubs to restaurants. Tours can also include wine tasting sessions at local wineries.

A 50% deposit is required to hold your reservation.

Day 1

Arrive Friday night in Kelowna.
Check in to local accommodations @ 4:00 p.m.
Dinner – Pick-up @ 7:00 p.m.

Day 2

Breakfast @ 7:30 a.m.
Depart to Trailhead @ 8:45 a.m.
Arrive at Trailhead at Myra Canyon @ 9:30 a.m.
We will cycle over 18 trestle bridges and through 2 tunnels of this National historic site to Ruth Station, then either cycle or pick-up to the Train Station Pub for lunch. Up to 35 kms of cycling
Back to B&B or hotel.
Dinner – Pick-up @ 7:00 p.m.

Day 3

Morning – Breakfast @ 7:00 a.m.
Transport to trailhead Chute Lake @ 8:00 a.m.
Bike to Penticton @ 10:00 a.m. to trail head .A total of 44kms of  2% downhill cycling. this is the longest section of 2% downhill in Canadian Railway history
Lunch @ 2:00 p.m. at the Hooded Meganzer on the waterfront in Penticton.
Check-in local accommodations @ 4:00 p.m.
Dinner departure @ 6:30 p.m.

Day 4

Breakfast @ 7:30 a.m.
after breakfast check-out and  departure to trail head trout creek crossing above Summerland

35 kms of cycling along trout creek and mtn views to lunch at Zia’s Stonehouse.
Meet train @ 1:30 p.m., ride  the kettle valley steam  train back into history.

Depart to Kelowna @ 4:00 p.m. tour ends:

extra night in Kelowna can be arranged if needed.

Tour Begins: Arrive Saturday July 29,2017
4:00 p.m. – Check-in to Best Western Kelowna.
4 star – Kelowna’s “Green” Hotel
7:00 p.m. – Pick–up for dinner – Yellow House

Day 2

July 30TH ,2017: Breakfast at Hotel
9 a.m. Pick-up for transport to McCulloch lake to begin 56km downhill backcountry guided cycle.
12:30 p.m. Trail lunch Arlington Lake, the old Lakeview Station site.
4:00 p.m. We pick you up in Beaverdell and transport to Kelowna.
7:30 p.m. pick-up for dinner – TBD

Day 3

Mon July 31st,2017: Breakfast at hotel
8:00 a.m. pick-up to Myra Canyon for 32km cycle to Bellevue Trestle then transport to the Sunset Bistro @ Summerhill Pyramid Winery for lunch.
After lunch we will do a tour of the winery and a tasting, than return to the hotel.
7:00 p.m. Dinner Pick-up – To be determined.

Day 4

Tue Aug 1st,2017: Breakfast from 7:00 a.m. at hotel
Check–out and pick-up at 9:00 a.m. – transport to Summerland.
our ride start from Trout Creek, we cycle 35 kms to Zia’s Stonehouse for lunch

We transport to accommodation @ the Lakeside in Penticton after lunch
7:00 p.m. Pick-up for dinner @ Bogners Penticton.

Day 5

Wed Aug 2nd ,2017: Breakfast at the Hooded Meganzer on the waterfront.
9:00 a.m. – Transport to See Ya Later Ranch Winery to Begin our 30km+ cycle to Oliver
Lunch is at the Sonoran Room @ Burrowing Owl Estate Winery.
Return to Penticton after Lunch. (Optional winery stops on route)
Dinner is at 7:00 p.m. @ The Hooded Meganzer on the waterfront.

Day 6

Thur Aug 3rd,2017: Breakfast at the The Hooded Meganzer.
8:30 a.m. – We pickup and transport to Chute Lake Resort to begin our ride. This is the longest downhill in Canadian railway history, 20 miles at 2% downhill.
We cycle 38k to Hillside Winery for lunch.
