Aurora borealis viewing from the city of Whitehorse, Yukon

Enjoy the beauty and mystery of the aurora borealis on this tour to view the northern lights in and around the city of Whitehorse, Yukon. To the north an eerie, sulfurous-green sheen begins to ripple into the night sky.  It arcs itself into an ebb and flow, slowly growing, then suddenly bursts across the full expanse of the night sky waving and dancing as if it were happy.  It's the spectacular and mystical Northern Lights and viewings such as the one above are common in the Yukon.

This aurora borealis package combines the comfort of a hotel accommodation with evening tours at heated and comfortable facilities away from the city lights to view the northern lights. Whitehorse is considered one of the best places in the world for viewing this natural wonder and the area boasts a high success rate for seeing the lights.

Your package begins with pick up service at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Whitehorse.  This same evening you will participate in your first aurora tour.  You will transported by van from Whitehorse to a remote cabin a short drive from the city.  Here you will enjoy the spectacle of the lights in the comfort of a cozy heated cabin.  On day two, you will be treated to a tour of the city of Whitehorse and each evening you will return to the viewing location for a guided aurora tour.

To fill your afternoons, various day activities can be added to your package.  Optional tours include snowshoeing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, wildlife preserve, hotsprings tour and ice fishing in the winter. Hiking, hotsprings tours and a visit to a wildlife reserve in the fall.
