Lake Minnewanka fishing charters for lake trout in Banff, Alberta

Fish for lake trout in the splendor of the Rocky Mountains in Banff National Park on a private fishing charter on Lake Minnewanka.  Professional guides take you out in comfortable boats where you will have the opportunity to catch large lake trout up to 45 pounds.   Lake Minnewanka is considered one of the top lake trout fisheries in Canada, and one of the few that is accessible by road in Alberta.

Your guides have unrivaled knowledge of this large lake, and say with some pride that their success rate is phenomenal. Wildlife abounds in the area. There may be opportunities to view bears, bighorn sheep, elk, wolf, coyote, deer, bald eagles, golden eagles, diving ducks, and many other animals. On these trips, you will primarily fishing for lunker Lake Trout as well as jumbo Rockies (Rocky Mountain Whitefish).

Lake Minnewanka is the largest lake in Banff National Park and is about 5 miles (8 km) from Banff town site. Originally named Devil's Lake by native peoples, the lake was renamed Minnewanka (Lake of the Water Spirit) by early explorers. This 18 mile (25 km) long, one mile (2 km) wide lake, with depths of up to 400 feet (130 m), may or may not be home to spirits, but it is certainly home to trophy size Lake Trout and Jumbo Rockies (Rocky Mountain Whitefish).

This trip is suitable novice anglers or family groups. Your guides will make this an easy, fun trip for you, so you can enjoy alpine lake fishing at it's finest amidst the magnificent Rocky Mountains.
