Wildlife watching day cruise on Vancouver Island


Marine cruises off the east coast of Vancouver Island offer an excellent opportunity to view a variety of wildlife include whales, bears, seals, sea lions and bald eagles. On this tour you depart from Campbell River on Vancouver Island to go whale watching and wildlife viewing throughout the swirling waters of Discovery Passage and Johnstone Straits.  You search for Orcas (Killer Whales) and other marine wildlife such as black bears, dolphins, porpoises, eagles, seals, sea lions. Quite often in the spring you also see Grizzly Bears. On this journey you will also enjoy an exhilarating cruise through some of the strongest tidal current areas found anywhere in the world. In addition you will be seeing some of British Columbia's most beautiful coastal scenery.

 

Locally owned and operated by First Nation members these tours offer a chance to learn about some of the history of the area. Make sure to bring your camera for a spectacular sightseeing adventure you will never forget.  You travel through some of the worlds strongest ocean currents with rapids, boils and whirlpools. You will also learn some of the local First Nations (Native) history and culture.

TRANSPORTATION

Trips begin and end in the town of Campbell River, on Vancouver Island. Located 264 km (165 miles) north of Victoria (Vancouver Island) and only 153 km (95 miles) north of Nanaimo, Campbell River is easily reached via the Inland Island Highway (19) or by the more scenic Oceanside Route (19A). Multiple modern ferry systems with large car capacities connect Vancouver Island at both Victoria and Nanaimo from the mainland with frequent departures throughout the day at Tsawassen and Horseshoe Bay (near Vancouver) by BC Ferries.

You will enjoy a comfortable journey aboard one of two tour boats. The 27 foot covered high speed tour boat with an onboard washroom. This vessel can carry 12 passengers and is fully equipped with all the proper navigation and safety equipment. Even if its a rainy day you will be inside warm and dry. Your guides also have a 24 foot zodiac tourboat which can also carry 12 passengers.

CANCELLATION POLICY & DETAILS
We require a 50% non refundable deposit (Visa or Mastercard) at the time of the booking (reservation). If a tour is not cancelled within one (1) week prior to the tour departure date, we reserve the right to charge the full tour price to the credit card provided.
