This base camp hiking trip combines several day hikes to provide a comprehensive experience of all the incredible scenery Kluane National Park has to offer.
You'll carry only a light day-pack while hiking through a region that is home to idyllic lakes, sparkling rivers, majestic mountains and abundant wildlife. In Yukon’s Kluane National Park lies the largest non-arctic ice field in the world with the glacial valleys crowned by Mount Logan, Canada’s highest peak.
The base camp for this trip will be set up at one of Parks Canada's established campgrounds, where you have access to basic facilities such as picnic table, water and outhouses.
At the Da Kų Cultural Centre and the Kluane National Park Visitors Centre you'll learn more about wildlife and the Champagne & Aishihik First Nations who call Kluane home. During this hiking trip in Yukon's Kluane National Park you’ll experience the beauty of Kluane's majestic mountain world; a wildlife paradise where large numbers of grizzly bears, Dall sheep and other wildlife roam freely.

Guide Information:All trips will be led by a Parks Canada licensed wilderness guide.
Restrictions: This trip requires some basic hiking experience.All participants must prepare their personal gear for rapidly changing weather; steep, rugged terrain and cold.
Meals & Dining: All meals and non-alcoholic beverages are included during the trip and prepared by your guide. Meals in hotels before and after the trip are not included.
Transportation: Trips begin and end in Whitehorse, Yukon. Transportation between Whitehorse and Kluane National Park is included. Whitehorse is accessible by air from Vancouver through Air Canada or Air North.
Weather: Summer temperatures in the Yukon can average 15-20 C. Weather in the mountains can change quickly so be prepared for a variety of conditions.
Requirements: Sleeping bag and pad.
Trip notes: There is a high chance you will see grizzly bears. It's of the upmost importance for you and the bear's safety that you comply with our guide's bear encounter procedures. Occasionally trails can be closed by Park wardens due to high grizzly bear activity. If this is the case, we will find alternative trails.

Upon arrival in Haines Junction you will have time to visit the cultural and visitors centres to learn more about the area before we go to set up our base camp. In the afternoon we'll get in our first little hike to get up close and personal with one of Canada’s most majestic landscapes. Overnight at the base camp. Lunch and Dinner included.

CANCELLATION POLICY & DETAILS
A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the trip fee is required to hold your reservation. The balance of the fee is due 30 days prior to the start of the trip. Cancellation fees are as follows: Until 30 days before departure: 20% of the total amount 29 to 15 days before departure: 50% of the total amount, 14 days or less before departure and less: 100% of the total amount.
