Itinerary

Our adventure starts at the Reykjavik Domestic Airport. From there, we'll head out straight for our first landing in the Þórisjökull glacier. On our way to the glacier, we will pass by the tallest waterfall in Iceland, Glymur. You'll get a nice view of it from above without having to hike for hours - you'll simply watch it from your comfortable seat in the helicopter. Once we are on a glacier, you'll get an opportunity to explore it on foot and take memorable pictures.

After a brief glacier walk, we'll continue our tour to Þingvellir National Park, one of the main attractions along the Golden Circle. Thingvellir is also a historically significant place since it's where the first parliament of Iceland took place. Here you'll witness Eurasian and North American tectonic plates drifting apart, visible only from above.

The second landing on this tour will be at the Hengill Geothermal Area. It got its name from the Hengill volcano, located in a remote valley within a few hours of hiking or accessible by helicopter. The valley is known for hot springs and bubbling mud pots that you can walk right up to. This magical place is worth visiting at any time of the year.

The total duration of this tour is approximately between 100 and 130 minutes. It includes a 60-80 minute guided helicopter flight, a 15-minute walk on a glacier, and a 15-minute landing in the remote geothermal area.

Please keep in mind that this tour highly depends on the weather and daylight during the winter. We are constantly monitoring the weather conditions and will give you updates in the hours before this tour. But don't get discouraged! The weather and its unpredictability are part of the Icelandic experience!

Meeting location: Reykjavik Domestic Airport, Hangar 1 Nautholsvegur road.
