Itinerary

Tour information

winter scenery in winter at lofoten

This 5-hour evening tour offers the experience of a narrative guide and professional photographer, and when the aurora will appear he’ll be able to capture the magic on camera.

With the help of your guide, a professional photographer, you will also learn how to set up your camera and tripod (tripods available, let your guide know in advance) to capture the Northern Lights and take some unforgettable photos against a backdrop of the windswept bays, glassy lagoons, and looming peaks of the remote Lofoten archipelago.

All the pictures taken by us will be sent the day after without any additional cost.

  • 08.00 pm - Meet & greet with the photo guide and general introduction to the photography adventure.

  • 08.10 pm - You will start your photography chase accompanied by our photographer. Our guide will drive you first to Gimsøy island, in the north of the archipelago. Gimsøy island is a small spot facing the Atlantic Ocean. The Northern Lights from the Atlantic are unique and amazingly powerful.

  • 08.40 pm - Arrival at Gimsøya island and first, stop at Gimsøy Kirke, which is a perfect location to start searching for the lights.

  • 09.30 pm - You will continue to Hov, the wide beach of Gimsøya, and here the guide will help you to set the camera, and to be ready to take amazing pictures of the queen of the Arctic: the aurora borealis. The photographer will be there to give you all the basic photo instructions and information you need, and if you are not a photo lover, he will take pictures for you and of you with the northern lights in the background. Wind permitting, the guide will light the fire to warm up and enjoy.

  • 11.30 pm - Continue to the southern side. Stop at Gimsøy bridge.

  • 11.45 pm - Continue to Lyngvær. Stop to admire again the dancing lights surrounded by a spectacular landscape.

  • 00.15 am - Stop at Kabelvagmarka where if weather condition permitting, you will walk on an icy lake and where our skilled photo guide will continue taking pictures of the aurora in a real Arctic landscape.

  • 01.00 am - Arrival in Svolvær.

The day after, you will get all the pictures taken by Wetransfer.
