With this tour, which lasts about five hours, we want our visitors to see the most spectacular locations of Lofoten islands. It will be possible for you to sit on pure white beaches facing a crystal sea, to admire imposing mountains which for billions of years have guarded, like ancient Viking warriors, magnificent cliffs where the waves of the North Sea break. You will smell the scent of that same sea, united with the perfume of the arctic flowers. At the same time, you might also visit archaeological sites which tell the story of the Viking population, and the origins of this land. Walk amongst the old “Rorbu” (old fishermen’s houses) in the different, colourful villages of the islands. You will also have the chance to taste the various typical products of these islands, while sitting in some characteristic local restaurants.

With this excursion, we would like to take you to discover these islands; we will not only visit some of the characteristic fishing villages which have made these islands famous, and are appreciated all over the word, but we’ll also take you to explore unspoilt nature, the most genuine and extraordinary part of this beautiful archipelago. We will drive thought the Gimsøy Island and its amazing white sandy beaches, lakes, mountains, landscape and its historical wooden church.Then we will continue our trip to Bøstad where we will stop at the panoramic view.

Our tour will continue to the Vestfjord side where you will have the chance to visit Henningsvær, the Venice of the north and Kabelvåg. Both are old fishing villages where you can breath the history and atmosphere of the ancient times when the fishermen used to gather up here to participate to the Cod fishing season. With this short tour you will have the possibility of capturing the best that these Islands can offer you.
  • 09.30 pick up at the hotel in Svolvær or Kabelvåg.  

  • 09.45 stop in Lyngvær where you could admire Dan Graham's glass construction creating for capturing the light and the image of surrounding landscapes, characterized by the blue and deep Vesfjord and high mountains. This sculpture is becoming more and more popular for its beauty and its natural locations. 

  • 10.10 Stop at Gimsøya brua, the bridge which connect the island of Austvågøya to the island to Gimsøya. Fascinating place where the the Atlantic Ocean and the Vesfjord waters meet, creating a nature and interesting maelstrom.
       
  • 10.30 Stop at Gimsøy church, the oldest church of the island, located in the middle of the Arctic Ocean. The church in itself together with the wild and arctic landscape which surround it, make this place incredibly photogenic and a popular attraction.
     
  • 10.45 Stop at Hov, the wildest of the beaches of this island. Time at your leisure to have a walk on the white sandy beach, relax, take a tea in the local cafeteria. 

  • 11.15 Continue the driving all along the islands. Multiple photo stops to capture the lights and the scenery. 

  • 11.40 Photo stop at Thorvaldsen, famous for its beautiful viewpoint from where one can enjoy the little fjord entering the Ocean, the steep mountain chain, Lofotveggen, the colourful farms and the church on the background.  

  • 12.00 Departure to Henningsvær.  

  • 12.40 Arrival to the pretty fishing village of Henningsvær. Henningsvær is also known as the Venice of the north for its bridges, its glass blowing factory, its handcraft, and its tiny corners characterized by small fishing huts, colourful wooden houses, wall paintings and much more. 

  • Stop at a typical cafeteria to taste local food. 

  • 13.30 Departure from Henningsvær towards Kabelvåg.

  • 14.00 Arrival in Kabelvåg, the medieval fishing village, famous for its view facing the islands of Skrova, Lillemolla and Storemolla and the lighthouse. 

  • 14.20 Departure from Kabelvåg. 

  • 14.30 Arrival in Svolvær. Drop off at the hotel.
