Dog sledding is an age-old arctic tradition that dates back to 1,000 CE and is the best way to explore the remote landscapes of the Lapland region. Hitched to your very own team of huskies, you will ride through scenic forests and valleys, where you can observe arctic wildlife. Halfway through you will be treated to Lappish cuisine, while your guide educates you on the local culture and customs. Don't miss out on this unique experience!
Dog sledding is an ancient arctic tradition and the perfect introduction to the local culture and wildlife of the area. Our tour begins at the kennels where you will be introduced to your very own team of four Alaskan huskies. Before setting off on the tour, our experienced guides will teach you all the essentials of driving a sled, dog commands, and how to handle different situations on the trail. They will ensure all questions are answered and you’ll be briefed on safety measures so that you have the best experience possible!
Then it will be time to set off on your big adventure. The Swedish Lapland region is one of Europe's most untouched wilderness areas and is home to scenic forests, rivers, mountains, and archipelagos, which stretch across a quarter of the country. Throughout these arctic forests live a variety of wildlife unique to cold climates. If you are lucky you might get the chance to see some reindeer or moose. Both are found in the northernmost areas of Scandanavian countries. Sweden boasts the densest moose population in the world, so during our stops make sure you have your cameras ready.
Around lunchtime, we will make a stop at our private wilderness cabin for some traditional Lappish cuisine! Made from ingredients native to the region, you will get to experience local culture through your tastebuds. Your three-course meal will include a starter, main course, coffee, and cake.
With our bellies full we will return back to the kennels to drop off our new furry friends, and you will be transported back to your hotels.
