Enjoy a crisp morning dog sledding ride across the Swedish Lapland. Our professional guides introduce you to the scenic forests and valleys of Sweden's northernmost region on an exciting adventure. You will get to take part in the age-old tradition of dog sledding, dating back to 1,000 CE, and experience the local culture.
The Swedish Lapland is one of the most untouched wilderness areas in all of Europe. The remote arctic region is home to forests, mountains, rivers, and archipelagos, which cover a quarter of the country. An abundance of reindeer and moose live in these wintry forests. These animals are found mostly in the northernmost regions of Scandanavian countries. In fact, Sweden has the densest moose population in the world. We often encounter them on the trail so keep your camera ready.
However, for your excursion you will be following smaller fluffier animals – huskies! An age-old tradition, your guide will introduce you to the ins and outs of dog sledding. Enjoy the crisp morning air as you travel through the winter wonderland of the Torne River Valley and through pine forests. Dog sledding is the perfect way to experience nature and wildlife without disturbing it. Halfway through our adventure, we will stop to make a bonfire where we will indulge in some coffee, tea, and cake.
The morning weather on the Lapland typically offers the perfect conditions for scenic photography so you will be able to capture your wonderful memories!
