This bespoke winter adventure tour takes you into the northernmost region of Sweden, where you’ll be transported by a team of huskies. During the day you sled across picturesque arctic landscapes, followed by an evening in a sauna under the glimmering aurora lights.
Escape into the untouched wilderness of the Swedish Lapland on our overnight dog sledding tour. Home to vast valleys, tall mountains, and dense forests, Kiruna, Lapland is a scenic winter paradise. On arrival, you will choose between riding as a sled passenger or driving your own team of Alaskan huskies. No previous experience is needed and your professional guides will instruct you before setting off.
We will sled across nature trails through the Torne River Valley, encountering towering pine forests and majestic wildlife along the way. Sweden is renowned for its moose population, the densest in the world, as well as its reindeer. The indigenous Sámi people are known to herd reindeer, which they use for clothing and meat.
Our day trip will lead us to a cozy private wilderness treat, where we will sleep for the night. Before settling in for the evening, you will have the opportunity to relax from your travels in a traditional sauna. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a day of adventure! For dinner, enjoy an authentic Lappish dinner with a side of wine or beer.
Arguably one of the main highlights of the Swedish Lapland, the entire region is located in the aurora zone. Before heading to bed, you will have the chance to catch the glittering Northern Lights show – a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience! During the winter, the sun sets around 3 p.m. which means you can witness the lights a bit before midnight.
In the morning enjoy a delicious breakfast before hitching your furry guides back up for the ride home. The daylight offers some great photo opportunities so make sure you keep your cameras ready. Don't miss out on this off-the-grid experience!

If you are staying in Abisko or Björkliden pick-up is not available from your hotel, but we offer the option to meet you outside of Scandic Ferrum Hotel in central Kiruna. If this is the case, make sure you select Scandic as your hotel when booking.

Return: The overnight tour ends at 11:00 am the following day, after which you will be provided with a transfer back to your hotel.
