Information

small group in abisko national park at winter near tornetrask lake

Established in 1909, Abisko National Park is Sweden's first national park. Located in the heart of the Lapland, Abisko extends over 7,700 hectares (19,027 acres), beginning at the coast of Torneträsk, Scandinavia's largest alpine lake. The park was created with conservation in mind and has become a hub for scientific study.

Our morning hike excursion follows one of the many nature trails that crosses through Abisko National Park. Most of the trip is on level ground and will be led at a relaxed pace. We will wander through the mountain birch forests of Abiskodalen Valley, along the Abisko River Canyon past views of the delta, and around the impressive scenery of Lake Torneträsk. Marvel at Njullá mountain, known as 'flower mountain,' famous for its abundance of flowers.

During the tour, your professional guide will share interesting nature facts about the wilderness, wildlife, and culture of the local indigenous Sámi people

If we are lucky, we will witness some of the rare wildlife native to the Lapland, including reindeer, moose, mountain hares, foxes, golden eagles, and white-tailed eagles. You definitely won't want to forget your camera because you never know what we will see! Book this incredible nature hike today and experience the heart of the Swedish Lapland!
