This 3-hour Northern Light Hunting Tour by snowmobile will take you deeper into the wonderful winter landscape of the Lappish nature in order to chase the Auroras! Let our guide lead you on a different kind of a snowmobile adventure in the nearly unlit nature, where only moonlight, stars and snowmobile light systems will light your way. In the middle of the wilderness, we will have a break to look on the sky. You will be surrounded by forests and lakes that are rising like mysterious shadows towards the night sky and drive the snowmobile through the snow covered landscapes. The guide will prepare an open fire for you to warm up, and you can enjoy warm refreshments, grill sausages and wait for the Northern Lights to show up and dance for us in the night sky. If we are lucky and the sky is clear, we might see the flaming northern lights dancing in the sky while we experience the silence. This excursion suits best for adults, but also children can join the safari sitting on a sledge under warm blankets. Note the late time of the excursion!
Important information:
- To drive a snowmobile, a valid driver’s license (class B) is required. Provisional licenses or photos of a driving license are not accepted, and the license must be clearly readable in English. If a guest does not bring their driving license, they will not be allowed to drive a snowmobile and no refund can be offered.
- The snowmobile driver is responsible for any damages to the vehicle, with a maximum personal self-liability of 950 EUR per person per snowmobile in case of an accident. Additional insurance can be purchased on site for 15 EUR, which reduces the self-liability to 150 EUR. This insurance must be purchased before the start of the tour.
- Children and adults without a driver’s license can join the safari by sitting on a sledge. Two adults share one snowmobile. If the group size is an odd number, one participant will need to share a snowmobile with another member of the group.
- Single driving is available as a supplement for adults.
- This tour is considered an extreme sport; therefore, children under 4 years old and pregnant participants cannot be accepted due to safety risks caused by icy and uneven terrain.
- Children aged 4–13 are seated in a sledge behind the guide’s snowmobile, and it is recommended that one parent sits with a small child in the sledge for safety reasons.
- If a child over 140 cm wishes to sit on a snowmobile as a passenger, the full adult price will be charged, subject to availability.
Transfer and meeting information:
- Transfers to and from the tour are included from Olo Resort, Reindeer Manor Levi, Arctic Nook, Hotel Levi Panorama, and Golden Crown Levi Igloos. Guests staying in the center of Levi can meet the guide at the Safari Office at Levintie 1585, with the meeting time 30 minutes before the scheduled tour start.
- Pickups begin 30 minutes to 1 hour before the tour starts, and the exact pickup time will be confirmed by email the day before. If the email is not received, guests should contact the provider.
- Missing the meeting time or meeting point will result in a missed safari, which is non-refundable.
