At 7:45 p.m., you will meet your guide where you will be given a high-quality camera and we will spend a few minutes explaining how to use it. All of the camera’s settings will be taken care of in advance so that all you have to do is enjoy watching and photographing the aurora borealis. You will also be given a pair of warm overalls to help keep you safe and comfortable during your night in Abisko National Park.

Your nighttime adventure begins at 8:00 p.m. where you will receive your own high-quality DSLR camera. No prior photography experience is needed, as your guide will spend the first part of the tour providing a how-to introduction. All of the settings on the camera are taken care of before you get them so all you will need to know are the basics. If you have a background in photography and wish to learn more about photographing the aurora, let your guide know beforehand so they can customize your experience. This helped us ensure you get the most out of your tour experience and go home with some new skills!

At about 8:30 p.m. we set out into Abisko National Park where we will hunt the whimsical aurora borealis. During your tour your experienced guide will educate you on photography as well as Lapland culture and folklore. Learn about the local interpretations of the Northern Lights over the past centuries and how they interact with nature. We will discuss the solar system and constellations that sit above the park and delve into the science behind the aurora borealis. During our lesson, you'll also learn about solar storms and the impact they could have in the future.

Our tour wraps up around 11:30 p.m. You will head back to your hotel and collect your memory cards with the stellar photographs you took. You won't just make memories, you will be able to take them home!
