On the other side of the lagoon is where the challenge begins. Today we will cycle approximately 65 km (40 mi) on a bike path through forests, sand dunes and tiny resort towns with Nida as our final destinationJuodkrantePreila and Pervaka – three resort towns that used to be fishing villages –  will be our main stops along the way. Your belongings will be waiting for you in a comfortable Nida B&B, where you’ll get some well-deserved rest.

Soon after you will find yourself surrounded by serene drifting sand dunes, a one-of-a-kind landscape. It’s not just the unmatched nature but also the tragic historical circumstances that distinguish this place. Many people who were imprisoned in a French military camp located there from 1870 to 1872 died due to exhaustion and harsh conditions.

On the other side of the dunes a lovely pine forest and Nida lighthouse await. For a small additional fee, you can enter the lighthouse and see the white sand beach of Nida from up high!
