Snowcat Tour on Snaefellsjokull Glacier

Once arrived at the meeting point, we will take you on a short bus ride of 20 minutes to the root of the glacier. Then you will finally meet our snowcats, impressive truck-sized vehicles specially designed to drive on snow. The massive engines are optimized for use in sub-zero weather and cold conditions. The snowcats that are used for the tour are perfectly equipped so that everyone can enjoy the views of Snaefellsjökull National Park along the way to the top.

On your way to the peak of Snaefellsjökull Glacier, discover the universe of “Journey to the Center of the Earth” by the French author Jules Verne. Indeed, Snaefellsjökull is the entrance of the subterranean journey in the world known novel. When the snowcat successfully made it to the summit, you will be able to go on the glacier during a short break to admire the amazing panoramic view. Don’t forget to take pictures of this unforgettable moment on top of a glacier. From there, you can see the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Snæfellsjökull National Park and if the visibility is clear, you can see up North to the Westfjords and South to Keflavík.
