Overview

A darker and longer sibling of Silfra, Davíðsgjá is a monstrous crack in Lake Thingvellir. Can you believe that on most days visibility of this crack reaches an impressive 100 meters? Although it is often mentioned along with Silfra, this go-to dive site for many locals has overwhelming sights and experiences in its own right. The size of the crack alone will leave a lasting impression. It is simply impossible to take it all in at once. The size and underground architecture complement each other as you have plenty of room to explore massive lava formations.

Itinerary

INFORMATION

Prerequisites for this additional course:

- Booking Tectonic Diving Tour or Geothermal Diving Tour
- PADI Open Water certification
- PADI Dry Suit certification

We all agree that diving is about adventure. Few things can top the feeling of floating around the monuments of Iceland's intense geothermal activity. Rock vibrations, bubbles rushing to the surface, magnificent craters and lava formations are a precious experience even for divers who think they have seen it all.

This is no ordinary dive that you can do and log anywhere in the world. Very few places are blessed with such geological wonders, and even fewer offer Volcano Diver specialty courses.
The fact that you are already a diver says a lot about how adventurous and curious you are. So why not take it up a notch and create unparalleled memories with an official certification?

To add this course to one of our tectonic diving tours, please contact us.

In your first email please state:

- Which tour you have booked and when
- Your previous diving experience and certification
- Your height and weight (to ensure we have the appropriate equipment)
- Anything else that may be relevant (e.g., health restrictions)

*If you have not booked your tectonic diving adventure yet, please take a look at the Tectonic Diving Tour and Geothermal Diving Tour. Once you have decided what is right for you, reach us through contact form and include both the tour and the addendum Volcano Diver.
