Itinerary

A tour will start with a pick-up from Reykjavik and when everyone's on board, we'll head to the Landeyjahöfn Ferry terminal. There, we'll take a 30-minute ride to Vestmannaeyjar island. We'll start our sightseeing adventure by stopping to admire the views of Elephant Rock (Halldórsskora). Then, our journey continues to Stórhöfði cape to watch some puffins.

Next is the Eldheimar Museum, also called 'Pompeii of the North.' Here you'll be able to learn about the volcanic eruption of 1973 and what effect it had. Later, we'll head into town for some lunch (lunch not included in the tour price).

After lunch, we'll visit an area called Skansinn, next to the harbor. It was named after the fortress that once stood here. Here we will see a Norse Viking Church, Stafkirkjan, a lighthouse, and an incredible view of the cliffs by the harbor.

The main highlight of this adventure will be hiking up Mt. Eldfell Volcano, which erupted in 1973. From the top of the mountain, you'll see the lava field formed after this eruption and have an incredible view of the town and the island. After the hike, you can explore the town or stroll through the lava field. We'll meet at the harbor, where we'll take a ferry back to the mainland. We'll drop you off in the evening at your preferred place in Reykjavik.

You’ll get picked up from Reykjavik between 7:30 - 8:00 am, based on your chosen pick-up location. Nevertheless, we ask everyone to be ready on time. We’ll drop you off back in Reykjavik around 8:00 pm at the same place we picked you up.

This is a combination of two separate tours. If one of the tours is cancelled, you will still be able to join the other part.
