The waters and islands close to Reykjavik are crammed full of amazing wildlife and this combo tour gives you the opportunity to see some of the most impressive and fascinating animals in the entire world, including adorable puffins, whose smiling orange beaks and cute features are quickly making them one of the most popular animals in the world.
This is a great combination of two separate boat tours from Reykjavík. First, you’ll join a puffin tour on a smaller boat where we’ll take you to one of the three “Puffin Islands” just off the coast of Reykjavík. Each summer, thousands of birds come here to breed. With the small boat, we’ll get as close to the birds as we can in order to observe them in their natural habitat.
After the puffin tour, you’ll have some free time in the harbor before the whale watching tour begins. You can explore the harbor or have something to eat or drink in one of the many cafés in the harbor area. On the whale watching tour, you’ll sail from Faxaflói Bay where you’ll probably see Minke whales, dolphins, and porpoises. You may even see humpbacks or orcas if you are lucky!
