Whales & Puffins Tour from Reykjavík

This puffin tour takes you to small islands just off the coast of Reykjavík, known as the Puffin Islands. During the summer nesting season, thousands of Atlantic puffins gather here to breed.

The tour operates on a small boat, allowing you to approach the islands closely while following wildlife protection guidelines. This provides excellent viewing opportunities from the water without disturbing the birds.

Faxaflói Bay, just outside Reykjavík, is one of Iceland’s best locations for whale watching. The wide bay offers nutrient-rich waters that attract a variety of marine species throughout much of the year.

Minke whales, humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins, and harbor porpoises are commonly seen in the region. Orcas are occasionally spotted, and in rare cases, larger species such as sperm whales or blue whales may appear. Sightings depend on season and natural conditions.

This product consists of two separate tours operated independently. If one tour is canceled due to weather conditions or operational reasons, the remaining tour will proceed as scheduled.

If a cancellation occurs, arrangements for the affected portion will be handled in accordance with the applicable cancellation policy.
