Located in Tröllaskagi (Troll) Peninsula, Dalvik is the hidden jewel of the North. With a population of only 1,400, the town and the waters surrounding it have become a yet-to-be-discovered whale-watching paradise.

From the harbor of Dalvik, breathtaking landscapes open up. First, we notice Eyjafjörður Fjord, home to Akureyri and a few high peaks, Kerling being the highest. Then, there’s Hrísey Island, a shelter to vast puffin populations and forty other bird species. On this tour, you’re more than likely to spot at least a few dozen puffins circling the island together with eider ducks or even a few arctic terns.

Once the surrounding scenery of the harbor has been immortalized on our cameras, we’ll embark on the RIB boat. All equipment and safety gear needed for the ride will be given to you by our certified expert guides. Unlike other RIB boats, ours are equipped with suspension seats. These seats have been tested and proven to absorb more shock than regular RIB boats — ride in total comfort and safety!

As soon as everyone’s ready, we’ll venture out into the ocean. Whales are migrating animals, with no exact territory, so there are no pinpointed spots we’re going to go to. Our guides, though, have the latest insights on where the chances of seeing whales are the highest. Our search could take us towards Hrisey Island, alongside Eyjafjörður Fjord, or close to Akureyri. And sometimes, we even go as far as Grímsey Island in the Arctic Circle.

Regardless of where we go, you’re sure to spot whales, dolphins, and maybe even a flock of birds, like puffins, eider ducks or even arctic tern. Join us on this adrenaline-filled whale-watching adventure on our speedy RIB boat!

No pickup from Reykjavik or other locations in Iceland is available for this tour.
