People boarding the rib boat

Once we leave the harbor we will speed off in the direction where we are most likely to see whales, so our direction will vary depending on the season. Our search might take us towards Akureyri, closer to Hrísey, or almost to the island of Grímsey on the Arctic Circle. We always take the option that local wisdom suggests has the best chance of seeing whales. Whichever way we decide to go, you are sure to see some magnificent scenery and incredible bird species.

Then, we will find the whales (well 99% of the time): seeing these majestic, kings of the sea are truly awe-inspiring and something that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

The most common sighting is the powerful humpback, although really lucky boats sometimes see the biggest animal to have ever lived: the Blue Whale. Getting close to these creatures is an experience that everyone should have on their Icelandic visit: so don’t delay book our whale watching tour today!

Guaranteed whale and/or dolphin sightings all year round.

Regal humpbacks are the most common sighting (93-96%), followed by the eerily beautiful Minkes (30-35%), incredible white-beaked dolphins (30-50%) and playful harbor porpoises (30-50%). Blue whale sightings occur in around (2-5%) of tours: so wear lucky clothes, because you never know!

The safety and comfort of our guests is of paramount importance to us: we are the only tour operator that offers suspension seats, which increases comfort, reduces fatigue and lowers the risk of injury. This equipment has been scientifically tested and will provide you the best whale watching experience available in Iceland!

This tour is perfect for people who want the thrill of travelling fast across the ocean, while looking at nature’s most spectacular creatures.
