Your sea kayaking trip will begin in the first part of the day or the afternoon, please choose during the booking process.
Once everyone is ready for the adventure, your expert guide will go over some safety instructions and answer any of your questions.
Now you’re ready for the paddling in Hvalfjord fjord. This fjord will make you feel like you’re far away in some remote outdoor location. The peaceful sea and surrounding views of the magical rugged coastline make this adventure both fun and relaxing.
Even if it’s your first time kayaking, the expert guide will be available at all times to assist and make sure that you’re feeling comfortable and having a good time. With a paddle in hand, marvel at the wondrous views and keep your eyes peeled for puffins or other wildlife appearing around every corner.
We’re passionate about delivering exceptional kayaking experiences and we will, not only, provide all the gear and safety equipment for your kayaking tour but also top-of-the-line kayaks. Our kayaks are regularly checked and serviced. They are stable, modern and easy to use so that even novices will quickly learn how to navigate them. Please note, we don’t use sit-on-top kayaks.
We also make sure that there is at least one certified kayak guide per six kayakers so that you can get expert assistance at all times. Our guides’ will provide you with all the instruction you need on-location — you don’t need any previous experience to join this tour!
Meet on Location
Please meet us at our kayaking base at Hvammsvík. It takes approximately 1 hour to drive there from Reykjavik, please make sure to be on time.

Kayaking is weather dependent, so please keep your phone available and check your email in case the conditions for the tour change.
Warm outdoor clothing is well recommended, for example, a fleece or wool sweater and pants. It is also a good idea to bring a change of clothing and swimwear.
There is no prior kayaking experience required for the tours as our professional guides will teach all the technique on location.
All of our kayaking tours are listed at a level easy or moderate so most people should be able to do the tour. Just bear in mind that the activity is an outdoor nature activity so some physical strength is needed.
Top of the line plastic sea kayaks is used on all of our kayaking tours.
Our kayaks are very stable and easy to use.
Of course, they can tip over, although they are very stable and it happens rarley. If they tip over the guide has the necessary equipment and ability to quickly tip them over again.
Do not worry if your kayak tip over as all participants get life jackets and neoprene suits so they will stay warm even if they fall in.
Yes, all of our kayaking tours are operated by experienced and certified professional 4-star BCU sea kayak guides.
We recommend a waterproof camera when going on a kayaking tour. However, we do not recommend you to take too much with you on the kayaking tour as there is really no need for it.
You don’t need to be able ‘’swim’’ while kayaking, although we recommend that you can. People that can’t swim tend to panic when they are in the water. You must be comfortable with floating in the water.
