For many fishermen, the main attraction is that beautiful fish live in beautiful places. These freshwater trips are all about a complete fishing experience while exceeding your expectations in pursuit of the native trout and salmon that live in these coastal BC waters. The nature of the fisheries in this area of British Columbia is one of the seasonal windows.
There are times when only one window is open and other times when the fishing opportunities overlap. The fishing here is world-class, and you are in good hands while staying at one of the most beautiful lodges on Vancouver Island. You will head out daily with an experienced guide to fish for trout, salmon, or both, in the rivers and lakes that have made this area famous.
Located on west central Vancouver Island, just over an hour west of Campbell River, Gold River is a charming small BC town surrounded by mountains.
It is your home base to access some of the best trout and salmon waters on Vancouver Island and the Coastal Mountains watersheds on the British Columbia mainland.
There are three beautiful riverfront cabins on the property. Each cabin has three large private bedrooms. The 540 ft2 rooms have two queen beds, a wood-burning fireplace, a finely furnished sitting area, and granite-appointed bathroom suites. You will enjoy the picturesque river and mountain views, climate control & air-conditioning, high-speed wireless Internet access, and cable television. Each room includes a semi-private covered deck.
The main log lodge is simply spectacular, crafted from British Columbian Spruce and Pine, nestled on nearly 1,200 feet of riverfront on the Gold River, and easily speaks to those who know the meaning of roughing it in luxury. Beautifully decorated and featuring artwork from the region, the main lodge is an impressive, quiet, and comfortable setting for your ultimate Vancouver Island fishing experience. Relax on the outdoor patio or enjoy a fine meal seated around the outdoor fireplace after a day filled with fishing and adventure.
These trips are adaptable to current conditions and customized to your preferences and fishing experience. The time of year and seasonal fish migrations will help steer your guides to the best opportunities for a world-class angling adventure. You may walk & wade local rivers in pursuit of spring trout or fall coho, or chinook salmon, or your guide may utilize river rafts on streams not far from the lodge. There are more remote fly-in opportunities on Vancouver Island and on the BC mainland to access some of BC’s most remarkable, remote, and special wilderness rivers and lakes.
