Itinerary

Information

Arrival Day – Check-in is any time after 3:00 pm. This gives guests plenty of time to settle in, take a tour, enjoy a cocktail, and get into the salmon fishing mode. Hors d’oeuvres are served at 6:30 pm, and supper is served at 7:30 pm.

Fishing Days – Please keep in mind that this is your fishing trip and your experience. These are suggested times, but should you wish to have an early start or to sleep in, we are happy to accommodate. Breakfast service begins around 6:00 am. The guides arrive at the lodge at 7:00 am. Your departure is whenever you are ready. You are usually gone for a full day of fishing. You have the flexibility to return to the lodge at your discretion, provided it is before supper and darkness. Upon your return, hors d’oeuvres are served at 6:30 pm, and supper is served at 7:30 pm.

Departure Day – Before going out to fish on your last day, all your personal belongings should be removed from your room prior to your departure to the river. The daily routine is just like any other fishing day. However, upon your return to the lodge, your stay will come to an end.

This century-old riverfront fishing lodge was fully renovated and updated in 2017.  It retains its classic charm and rich historic features. It now features six private bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and after a day on the river, anglers can enjoy a cocktail on the large, screened-in porch overlooking the river.

The dining room with its original stone fireplace, creates a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy all your meals. The living room, surrounded by angling memorabilia and fine art, is where fishing stories are meant to be told at the end of the day. Guests are invited to take in the breathtaking views and immerse themselves in the tranquil and beautiful surroundings of the Bonaventure River.

Your fishing experience is perfectly complemented by the enjoyment of fine homestyle cuisine. Your Executive Chef, Diane, has a passion for both fishing and the culinary arts and has crafted a menu inspired by an assortment of seasonal favorites. A full breakfast is served every morning with daily specials, homemade wild berry jams, and local maple syrup. An added advantage of your fishing experience here is returning to the lodge for an in-house lunch. The inviting aroma of freshly prepared dishes greets you in the casual setting of the dining room, creating an atmosphere that encourages relaxation and easy conversation.

After your day’s fishing, enjoy tasty hors d’oeuvres with your favorite cocktail around the crackling fireplace in the living room or on the screened-in porch. To end your day, a full three-course meal is served with wine and enjoyed in the intimate setting of the dining room.

The lodge offers guests a split-day fishing experience with a return for an in-house lunch.  During the month of June, anglers will fish a combination of casting from traditional 26-foot river canoes and wading. July and August present anglers with the opportunity to wade fish during the action-packed dry fly season. September is an exciting month due to seasonal changes on the river, so anglers can expect both wade and canoe fishing depending on water levels.  The Bonaventure River is legendary for its water clarity and offers its anglers a captivating sight-casting experience.

Anglers of all ages and skill levels are welcome on these trips. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a beginner, your fishing adventure is designed to provide a welcoming and enjoyable fly-fishing experience. Your professional salmon guides are great teachers, too.
