Itinerary

Practical Information

happy group before heli rafting

Departure: The tour begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Glacier Raft Company base, located right off of TransCanada Highway #1 in Golden, BC. We ask that you arrive at least 15-30 minutes in advance to allow time for check-in and signing waivers. Unfortunately, we cannot delay departure for late arrivals.

*Note: We operate on Mountain Time (the same time as Calgary and Banff). If you are arriving from the west make sure you account for the 1-hour time difference.

Return: The tour ends at 5:30 p.m. at our base.

No previous rafting experience is required to join this tour. Your guide will introduce you to everything you need to know before the tour begins.

You don’t have to be a good swimmer, but it is recommended. If you don’t feel comfortable in the water, notify your guide in advance so that they can arrange seating in the raft accordingly.

There are no strict requirements for physical preparation. However, an approximate maximum weight limit of 300 lbs (136 kg) applies due to safety reasons.

Mother Nature is unpredictable, so we reserve the right to cancel the tour at any point if we feel that the water levels make rafting unsafe. In such an unfortunate case, you will be granted a full refund.

The lower canyon might not be accessible due to fluctuating water levels. If this happens, you will be flown up in the helicopter to raft the middle section twice. We need a specific number of people to book the helicopter, so unfortunately you do not have the option to downgrade your tour if you cannot raft the lower canyon.
