Information

skiing down a mountain

This unique ski trip will explore four world-class skiing resorts starting with Sunshine Village in Banff National Park in Alberta. It’s one of the most sought-after ski destinations in North America where you’ll have the unique opportunity to ski the Great Divide.

For a change of terrain, we’ll head to Lake Louise and Mount Norquay ski resorts, each offering superbly long runs and spectacular views. During your free time, embrace the mountain lifestyle, enjoy the après ski culture, stroll through the scenic resort town of Banff or treat yourself and relax in a hot spring.

After building your confidence and skills, we’ll move our base to the mountain town of Golden in British Columbia. For the next few days feel the snow slide smoothly beneath you at the legendary Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Home to one of the highest vertical drops on Earth, this winter wonderland lures powder hounds and alpine scenery fans alike.

Your guide will give you tips and help to find the best runs that match your skill level. So, strap on your skis and embark on the ultimate skiing adventure!

Your ski vacation starts with a pickup from your hotel in Calgary. Once everyone is on the bus, we’ll head west towards the spectacular Rocky Mountains. After a 2-hour scenic drive, check into your hotel room where you’ll stay for the upcoming four nights.

Next, we’ll go for a short tour around the bustling town of Banff. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain vistas, Banff is a lively community filled with boutique shops, art galleries, and gourmet restaurants. You guide will recommend a great place for a nice evening meal. Later, why not take a replenishing dip in a hot tub?

Sunshine Village Ski Resort in banff

Today we’ll head to the world-famous Sunshine Village. Nestled along the Continental Divide, this ski resort offers lots of excellent runs for beginner, intermediate and expert skiers, making it a perfect family getaway. Challenge yourself on some seriously steep slopes or take in the spectacular views of Mt. Assiniboine while cruising down one of the many green runs. Intriguingly, you can even ski in two different provinces, Alberta and British Columbia.

After a day spent skiing down tree-lined slopes, it’s time to add some hot springs to your itinerary. Namely, we’ll take you to the famous Sulphur Mountain Hot Springs, where mineral-rich waters will rejuvenate your senses and ease sore muscles.

Rated as the best ski resort in Canada by the World Ski Awards, it offers something for everyone. Be it challenging jumps or gentle slopes, it’s the perfect getaway for skiers of all abilities.

If your legs are still feeling a little wobbly from adventuring in the Sunshine Village, there is no need to worry: Lake Louise is blessed with sensational lake and mountain vistas. Take your time and savor the beauty of this winter wonderland.

Later, enjoy free time to explore the energetic town of Banff. With a plethora of restaurants, bars, breweries, cafes, spas, and shops, you’ll find adventure around every corner.

skiing friends on a mountain top

Today we’ll spend the day at the Mt. Norquay Ski Resort conveniently located just a couple of minutes from the town of Banff. It’s a small, family friendly resort offering quieter surrounds.

Famous for producing many world-class ski racers, it’s a clear favorite among locals. Here you’ll find glistening powdery snow and eye-popping views of the town of Banff.

In the evening, a special complimentary dinner at the Grizzly House awaits. The restaurant is famous for a fondue menu ranging from traditional to nontraditional meats like alligator, rattlesnake, and shark. Kick back and enjoy some mouthwatering food!

Spend another day hitting the epic bowls of Sunshine Village or Lake Louise. Skiing in the Rocky Mountains offers the opportunity of a lifetime to dash down slopes that are revered by ski enthusiasts worldwide. Enjoy untracked powder all day and feast your eyes on the stunning mountain views stretching as far as the eye can see.

Later, join the group for a scenic stroll or go on a walking tour of the iconic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Of course, you may also go exploring the town at your own pace. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

going down a snowy mountain in banff

In the morning, we’ll head out to the sixth largest ski area in North America, the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. A scenic 2 hour drive through Yoho National Park will take us to the mountain town of Golden in British Columbia. It’s a great opportunity to kick back and rest your ski legs before embarking on another epic ski adventure. If we’re lucky, we’ll see the delicate glow of sunrise slowly illuminate the snow-dappled peaks.

The upcoming 3 days will be spent exploring the invigorating runs at Kicking Horse. The views and champagne powder here will make your jaw drop. The resort is internationally renowned for its expert and extreme slopes but also has plenty of lovely green runs for beginner skiers. Ski it like a local with your guide who’ll show you some secret runs, as well as the best bowls and glades.

To top it off, spoil yourself with lunch or dinner at the legendary Eagle's Eye Restaurant. Located 7,700 feet high in the mountains, it’s Canada’s most elevated dining experience. However, the welcoming ski town of Golden also offers a plethora of restaurants serving locally produced and organic food.

Today we head back to Calgary. As we drive through Canada’s national parks, keep your eyes glued on the divine mountain views passing by. Then, we drop you off at your hotel. It's time to say our goodbyes here and head home with a bagful of unforgettable memories. Until next time!
