During this 6-day adventure, you'll dive deep into the culture and nature of the historic town of Churchill, Manitoba. You'll have a Cultural and Heritage tour around the town where you can learn more about this town's historical significance.

Each evening, you'll get a chance to search for magnificent aurora borealis. After each day filled with adventures, we'll return to rest in our cozy log lodge heated with a wood fire. Here you'll try out the most delicious meals of local cuisine and have your private room with all the necessary amenities.

Fly over the vast landscape of tundra overlooking the beautiful Hudson Bay coastline and the town of Churchill. Rich wildlife around this area includes polar bears, moose, beluga whales, arctic hares, arctic and red foxes, caribou, and ptarmigan. So keep your eyes open for any animal sightings!

Take a tundra tour to the Churchill Wildlife Management Area aboard an Arctic CrawlerTM. Take a ride with a team of adorable huskies through the Northern Boreal Forest. You'll get to meet the huskies and hear the stories from a local dog musher. If the conditions are right, you'll get a chance to take a cruise down the Churchill River.

Itinerary

Day 1: Exploring Winnipeg

On the first day of our tour, you will settle in the Winnipeg downtown hotel and have free time to explore the city.

On the morning of the second day, we’ll check out from the Winnipeg downtown hotel and make our way to the airport (transfer from the hotel to the airport is included). We’ll take a flight to Churchill, Manitoba. Upon arrival, we’ll check in at the Lazy Bear Lodge, our home for the next three nights. Later, we will join a Cultural and Heritage tour around the Churchill area. The tour includes a visit to historical Cape Merry and an outside tour of the Polar Bear Jail. In the evening, we’ll have an opportunity to see the Nothern Lights (if the weather permits). All meals are included.

Day three is dedicated to an exciting helicopter tour over the vast tundra. Here, you can enjoy the magnificent view over the coastline of Hudson Bay and the town of Churchill. The whole helicopter tour will take approximately 1.5 hours. After that, we’ll have a Parks Canada Interpretive Presentation about the wildlife in the area. Churchill is home to numerous wild animal species, including polar bears, red and arctic foxes, beluga whales, moose, caribous, ptarmigan, and arctic hare. All meals are included.

In the evening, we’ll return to our lodge for the night. If the weather allows, you can chase the magnificent northern lights!

Day four starts with a delicious breakfast and, if weather permits, the Zodiac Excursion. Later on, we’ll hop aboard Arctic CrawlerTM for a Tundra Tour. During the tour, we’ll explore the Churchill Wildlife Management Area. This area protects the habitat of various wildlife, including polar bears. 

After the wildlife tour, another thrilling experience awaits. Dog mushing is a popular activity among most Nordic countries. Previously the main means of transportation, today dog mushing is more of a recreational activity. During this experience, you’ll not only hear the stories from the local dog musher but also get to meet the lovely huskies in the Northern Boreal forest. While waiting for your ride, you’ll enjoy hot beverages and local treats like bannock. All meals are included.

In the evening, we’ll return to our lodge for the night. If the weather allows, you can chase the magnificent northern lights!

After breakfast, we’ll check out of the Lazy Bear Lodge and say goodbye to Churchill town. We’ll get to the airport (transfer included) and get a plane to return to Winnipeg. Arriving at Winnipeg, we’ll check into the airport hotel. Breakfast and lunch are included.

On the last day, we’ll have a nutritious breakfast and check out from the Winnipeg airport hotel. This is the end of our 6-day adventurous tour. Breakfast is included.

  • Depending on the weather, there is an opportunity to join a cruise down the Churchill River.

Deposit and Taxes

  • Pricing does not include 5% GST, PST or accommodation tax.
  • A 50% deposit is required to hold your reservation.
  • Balance of payment is due 90 days before trip commencement.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY & DETAILS

After confirmation: all payments are non-refundable. A change fee of $600 plus GST per person will apply if a reservation needs to be changed to another adventure date within the same year, subject to availability. Travel insurance is recommended.
