  • Taking in the abundant natural beauty of the mountain and the forest
  • Getting an introduction to hiking, mountaineering, and scrambling
  • Enjoying excellent views all around

The fun-filled tour will begin with a ride on the Whistler Blackcomb gondola. Then, we will hike and scramble across the area’s beautiful terrain to the peak’s base where we will start the ascent.

As the southern neighbor of the famous Whistler Mountain, Blackcomb is famous for offering abundant hiking, mountaineering, and climbing opportunities during the warmer months. The peak is also less crowded than Whistler. The beautiful Blackcomb Ascent Trail connects the base area of the Upper Village to the famous Rendezvous Lodge at the top of Blackcomb Mountain. Trailing up 1,200 meters (3,937 feet), this journey will get your heart pumping. Therefore, we will pack  plenty of food and water and take ample rest breaks as you explore this beautiful and scenic hiking trail.

Information

happy women rock climbers at blackcomb mountains

Reaching the Blackcomb Peak is made simpler by making use of the Whistler Blackcomb ski lifts. There is also a hike included to the peak’s base. The Blackcomb Peak Ascent is one of the most popular adventure tours in the region. As you indulge in this amazing rock climbing tour, the Blackcomb Buttress offers an impressive mix of scrambling throughout. You will also have access to low-level rope climbing sessions with short cruxes that are featured beautifully on the rocks along with artistic ledges for belays.

As the Buttress continues to narrow down, the overall exposure tends to increase. You can climb to higher levels with varying difficulty points – reaching up to 5.7 in difficulty level. This climb is a great introduction to the Alpine climb and is a perfect opportunity for beginner climbers.

With this climbing tour, there is no requirement of being an experienced mountaineer or rock climber. The tour serves to be an amazing one-day activity to make the most of your summer visit to the famous Whistler area. It is also a great opportunity for anyone looking  to witness Whistler from a new perspective.

For this tour, good agility and flexibility are expected. We will provide you with all the climbing gear necessary to reach the peak. But, if you have your own climbing gear, you can use your own gear. The hiking tour is considered ideal for anyone aged 15 and up.

The impressive trails have been designed to showcase the overall beauty as well as the diversity of Blackcomb Mountain while providing an adventurous uphill hike. This climbing tour also allows visitors to maximize the overall health benefits of continuous uphill climbing while avoiding the pounding of hiking downhill.
