Information

This fishing adventure will take place next to two lakes, located a short flight away from the float plane base in Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba. After arriving at the spot, you’ll spend every day fishing and relaxing in Canadian nature with a group of like-minded people.

Please find more information about the lakes below.

Wapeskapek Lake is a 30-minute flight from the floatplane base in Lac du Bonnet, located 70 miles north. This camp is in the heart of Atikaki Provincial Park, on the widening of the Gamon River. You will have five miles each way from the cabin to explore the lake. There are high rock cliffs along the shoreline with many bays full of vegetation to fish. Average water depths range from 10-35 feet. Supporting a very healthy walleye and northern pike fishery, Wapeskspek Lake has a set of waterfalls located at each end, which allows for a constant flow of water. Many trophy fish are caught and released, with Pike fishing remaining constant throughout the year.

This is the only outpost cabin on the lake. This 3-bedroom, 8-person cabin is located on an island in the center of the lake. Inside, you will find hot and cold running water, a private shower and bathroom sink, a full kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, and dishes, one large refrigerator-freezer unit, a chest freezer and a gas stove. Outside, a propane barbecue and fish cooker are supplied. This cabin is equipped with solar lights and a wood stove for heat.

Wapeskapek Lake is equipped with four 14’ Lund boats with 9.9 HP Yamaha motors. This outpost camp supplies lifejackets, swivel seats, landing nets, paddles, anchors and gas.

Anglers staying at Wapeskspek Lake will drive to the float plane base in Lac du Bonnet or fly to Winnipeg, where we can assist in arranging round-trip transportation to and from our float plane base. Your flight to Wapeskapek Lake is 70 miles, which will take approximately 30 minutes by float plane.

Echo Lake is a short 20-minute flight from our Float base in Lac du Bonnet and is perfect for individuals who do not enjoy long flights. Located in the Whiteshell Provincial Park, Echo Lake is known for its consistent walleye fishing, productive smallmouth bass and aggressive northern pike. Fish among many islands, points and shallow bays, with 9 miles of water to explore in the Canadian Shield. Don’t let the short 20-minute floatplane flight to the lake fool you. Echo Lake is one of our most popular nearby destinations with a tremendous fishery.

This is the only outpost cabin on the lake. The large 2-bedroom, 10-person cabin is located on a sheltered island on the south side of the lake. Inside, you will find hot and cold running water, a private shower and bathroom sink, a full kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, and dishes, a large refrigerator-freezer unit, a chest freezer and a gas stove. Outside, a propane barbecue and fish cooker are supplied. This outpost cabin is equipped with solar lights and a wood stove for heat. Enjoy your morning coffee on the covered waterfront deck overlooking the lake. But don’t sit on the deck too long; tremendous fishing awaits!

Echo Lake is equipped with five 14’ Lund boats with 15 HP four-stroke Yamaha motors. Lifejackets, swivel seats, landing nets, paddles, anchors and gas are supplied.

Guests staying at Echo Lake will drive to the float plane base in Lac du Bonnet or fly to Winnipeg, where we can assist in arranging round-trip transportation to and from our float plane base. Your flight to Echo Lake is 30 miles which will take approximately 20 minutes by floatplane.
