The cross-Canada train journey is as good as it gets. During the entire tour, you get to relax and unwind in the lavish dining cars while making new friends with your fellow adventurers. Cross-Canada trips are all about long, leisure-filled journeys where you can simply sit back, read your favorite book, and watch the rolling rivers and mighty mountains go past your speeding window. It is an incredibly relaxing way to explore Canada and enjoy your vacation.

During your journey from one coast to another in Canada (from Halifax to Vancouver), you will get the opportunity to dip your toes in the vast Pacific and Atlantic oceans while experiencing different modes of transportation. Get the most out of your trip across this amazing country through this classic cross-Canada experience.

WELCOME TO CANADA! Before heading off on our coast to coast adventure, we’ll do some quick intros to get to know our new friends and will set off to the local shops where we’ll be stocking up on food for our delicious home cooked meals. Before we truly begin, we’ll be making a pitstop where we’ll have our ceremonial touching of the Pacific Ocean, which will make our ceremonial touching of the Atlantic Ocean that much more special 30 days in.

With our Vancouver to Halifax trip, we’ll be heading straight for the hot spots on day 1. We’ll start our journey by driving north along the beautiful Sea to Sky highway to WHISTLER! En route, we’ll take a ride on Squamish’s Sea to Sky gondola to take in the unbelievable coastal views. At night, we’ll get settled in and take some time to get to know our new friends a little better. What better way to celebrate the beginning of the ultimate Cross Canada experience than by enjoying some drinks together and heading on a night out (or staying in) in Whistler Village?!

Included Activity:

Get ready for some forests, mountains, and lakes as we head out on a beautiful hike in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. Yes, the climb isn’t the easiest, but the views from the top are beyond rewarding. We’ll have lunch at Upper Joffre Lake with our new wildlife buddies (Canada’s friendliest birds and chipmunks live here!). In the afternoon, you will have the option to do a variety of thrilling adventures. You can choose to be a bad-ass and take the plunge in Canada’s highest bungee jump or to take on the Sasquatch, Canada’s longest zipline. If that’s not for you, then be sure to take the Peak to Peak gondola journey from Whistler to Blackcomb, with views that will not disappoint.

Optional Activities:
On day 3, we’ll head out early in the morning towards the Okanagan Valley region of British Columbia. The drive towards Penticton will offer jaw-dropping scenery through dense forests, beautiful mountains, and Canada’s temperate desert (who knew this was even a thing?). Over the next two days, we’ll do a variety of activities to get the most out of this region; this includes hiking the Knox mountain, doing a wine tour around the region's best wineries, and a whole lot of lakeside chillin'.
Optional Activity: Kelowna Wine Tour (The FML Bus will take you from winery to winery for $10-15 tastings - what a time to be alive!!!)

Rocky Mountains here we come! We’ll be driving north towards the beautiful town of Jasper. Upon arrival, we’ll get settled at our campsite and will enjoy some chilled-out, campfire vibes with the FML crew. For our full day in Jasper, we’ll take on some beautiful trails that take you through the Maligne Canyon region of Jasper. We’ll drive through the wildlife highway of Jasper to get a glimpse at all of Jasper’s incredible wildlife and will finish the day off with a breathtaking cruise along Maligne Lake to Spirit Island.

Included Activity:
Day 7 is a HUGE day for exploring all things Canada as we'll be driving down Canada's most famous highway - the Icefields Parkway. We'll enjoy multiple pitstops along the way to truly make the most of this beautiful region of Canada. This will include stops at Athabasca & Sunwapta Falls, the Columbia Icefield Glacier, and Peyto Lake. Finally, we will arrive in YOHO National Park and will settle down at our campsite for the night in preparation for another big day of adventure for the squad.
White. Water. Rafting. On YOHO’s Kicking Horse River. Yes. Yes. YES!

This day will have you yelling “WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!” for 99.9% of the day. We’ll be taking the wildest adventure along the rapids of YOHO’s Kicking Horse river, accompanied by a professional rafting guide who’s there to ensure that we all have an incredible time on the river. While this is offered as an optional excursion, we highly recommend this adventure as you’re guaranteed to love it! In the afternoon, we’ll get to enjoy some of YOHO’s best gems – Emerald Lake, Wapta Falls and Takkakaw Falls. Everything about this park is incredible, so you’re bound to love your YOHO experience.

Optional Activity:
Banff, here we come! Banff is a beautiful mountain town with forests, mountains and lakes GALORE. This is the time to explore the most famous destinations of Canada – Banff Village, Sulphur Mountain, and of course, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. The insane blues of these lakes will leave you speechless, so get ready for it! Also, be sure to strap in for a night on the town in Banff Village, which is guaranteed to deliver an incredibly wild night out for the FML fam.

Day 11 marks the end of our Rocky Mountain adventure as we get our last dose of the mountains before heading to Calgary. Here, we’ll have some free time to explore the city as well as time to relax and refresh before the next leg of our Cross-Canada journey.

Grasslands National Park – where to begin? While most people believe that Manitoba and Saskatchewan are just the “drive-through” provinces of Canada, the FML Adventures family now knows that the prairies are much, much more than that. Grasslands National Park is a true Canadian gem and offers the most incredible views. Here, our group will stay in traditional teepees and will enjoy beautiful sunsets and sunrises over the rolling hills of Saskatchewan. Not only that, but as Grasslands National Park is home to Canada’s largest dark sky preserve (meaning that there is essentially no light pollution in the park), the park delivers the most beautiful night sky. This is a truly special destination for the FML Adventures family and is definitely one for the books! We cannot wait to share this destination with you all and to make more special memories in one of Canada’s best-kept secrets.

Say hello to our FIFTH province of the trip! By this point of the trip, you’ll have experienced more of Canada than most Canadians have seen. These next 4 days will be extremely special as they feature some of the most beautiful yet underrated landscapes of Canada. The drives in Northern Ontario are beyond beautiful with constant twists and turns through incredible forests and lakes. Although we have some long driving days to get through in this portion of the trip, the views will make it all absolutely worth it. Throughout these days, we’ll get to experience the beautiful Lake of the Woods Region of Kenora, Thunder Bay’s Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, as well as the beautiful drives and campgrounds along Lake Superior. Northern Ontario is an absolute beauty and you are absolutely going to love it!

Seventh wonder of the world – we’re coming for you! Niagara Falls may be one of Canada’s most famous destinations and we couldn’t offer a coast to coast tour without visiting the majestic falls. Here, we’ll get to explore the Clifton Hill region of Niagara Falls as well as get right under the falls on the famous Maid of the Mist (if you’re an Office fan, you’ll know the significance of this spot).

Included Activity:

THE 6! Not only is the six home to FML Adventures, but it’s also home to all of your favourites – Drake, the Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes. They’ve all made a promise to FML Adventures that they’ll be our official hosts for your time in Toronto so GET READY.

If you haven’t caught onto our sarcasm, we apologize, and these legends will definitely not be your hosts for our time in Toronto. You will however have plenty of free time in the city to explore whatever it is you want to see! As we’ve said before, Toronto is our home and we have millions of recommendations to ensure you get the most out of your time in the city. From the CN Tower, to the Blue Jays, to Distillery District, to Toronto Island, to Queen Street shopping, and on and on and on. You’re bound to love Canada’s best city (sorry Vancouver, sorry Montreal, we still love you).

Included Activity:
Our city tour continues – from one major city to the next. This time, we’ll suddenly be emerged in the Francophone region of Canada. Montreal is the world’s second largest French-speaking city in the world and offers visitors European vibes right here in Canada. We’ll have two full days to explore all that Montreal has to offer - from the beautiful old town, to the top of Mont Royal, to indulging on fresh Montreal bagels, to understanding and appreciating the art of Canadian poutine, and finally to experiencing the city’s incredible nightlife.
Bonus: we’ll be staying at M Montreal, which was voted the #1 hostel in the world by HostelWorld and is an attraction in itself.
From Montreal, we head east towards Quebec City! Here, we’ll be staying in the ski resort region of Mont Sainte-Anne where we’ll have the option of taking on a Via Ferrata climb of the Sainte-Anne canyon. For those of you new to Via Ferrata (I am too!!) it's a sweet blend of hiking and climbing to give you a new perspective on some beautiful scenery. If you’re ready to take on that adventure, then SWEET! If not, feel free to hike around the Sainte-Anne region or just kick back and chill out at our campsite.
Optional Activity:
From Quebec, we’ll be heading into New Brunswick, where we’ll truly begin our East Coast adventure. New Brunswick is home to the highest changing tides in the world, and over the next two days we’ll be exploring this incredible region of Canada. We’ll be watching the insane tides at Hopewell Rocks, where we’ll get to experience the rocks both at high tide, and low tide (when we get to actually walk on the ocean floor!) This is a crazy surreal experience and definitely one for the books! We’ll also be adventuring through some of Fundy National Park’s best trails and taking some time to explore the cutest town of all towns - Alma, an absolute fan-favourite!
Included Activity:
From New Brunswick, we’ll be crossing over the confederation bridge - Canada’s longest bridge - to reach Prince Edward Island. We’ll take the afternoon to explore charming Charlottetown and will have plenty of free time to enjoy some breweries and local food, after which we’ll get settled at our Cavendish campsite. The following day, we’ll get to explore the red sand beaches of the Island, and all you Anne of Green Gables fans can visit the Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place. For our final PEI dinner, we’ll be heading for a famous lobster supper to experience a true East Coast seafood FEAST!
Included Activity:
On the morning of day 28, we’ll be taking a scenic ferry across the St. Lawrence River from Prince Edward Island to our final province of the journey: Nova Scotia. Our first stop will be Cape Breton Island – the island of breathtaking trails, rugged cliffs, and incredible scenery. We’ll have 2 full days for exploring this island, which will include beautiful waterfalls, quarries, Cape Breton’s famous skyline trail and a whale watching tour!
Optional Activities:
As we near the end, we’ll make our way to our final destination of our cross-Canada adventure. We’ll be driving west of Cape Breton Island and will make our way to the beautiful region of Peggy’s Cove. Here, we’ll have plenty of time to explore the beautiful cove and the famous East Coast lighthouse. We’ll have our final ceremonial touching of the Atlantic Ocean where we will celebrate the incredible journey that we have just completed. After a full-on day, we’ll take a short drive to our final campsite where we’ll set up camp for the final time and kick back for the night. We’ll watch the beautiful sunset with our new favourite people from around the world and will enjoy many, many drinks while reminiscing on the beautiful month-long journey that we just shared.

Unfortunately, the end is here. We’ll be dropping the FML family in downtown Halifax and will leave you all with plenty of recommendations to make the most of your time in this coastal city. *Cue the waterworks*
