This region of British Columbia is home to the world's largest intact temperate rainforest. The Great Bear Rainforest is one of the world's most beautiful and unique ecosystems. You will have time to slow down and take it all in. It is a life-changing area.
The Great Bear Rainforest is an area of vast inlets and fjord lands teeming with marine life, wildlife, First Nations history, and incredible black bear and grizzly bear viewing opportunities. This area is also home to the rare Kermode or Spirit Bear. Your trip will be customized and based on your group's expectations and priorities. Your coastal adventure will be centered around the Transport Canada-approved 64' Mothership, the High Seas Drifter, a historic vessel on the BC Coast.
She is a step into the past, but with all the modern amenities, you'll have everything you need to be comfortable on your trip.
You will anchor in pristine, remote bays or sheltered inlets with incredible views. Steep rock walls plunge into the narrow channels, creating the overwhelming awe of this place. It is as though the mountains rise up from the sea. During the day, you will board one of the crew boats or kayaks with a professional guide to tour and explore the surrounding area and its vast scenery in search of wildlife, maybe take a beach walk or hike along the shore. There are also remote hot springs in the area, providing a unique way to immerse yourself in this remarkable area. In the evenings, you will return to the Drifter for a shower, a gourmet meal, and a breathtaking setting for your evening visiting and entertaining. Fresh seafood may also be on the menu, as your guides may catch mouth-watering prawns, crabs, or fish from the waters outside your door.
This family-run operation caters to small groups of 2 to 8 guests per trip. Your group can book exclusive use of the ship or share it with other guests. Throughout your experience, the crew and guides provide complete attention to detail. They recognize the quality trip you deserve and will create an atmosphere that will set this trip apart. The mothership gives your guides the flexibility to move around the area to search for wildlife and new coastal landscapes. This is simply an amazing part of Canada's west coast, and once you come here, you will wonder why it took you this long.
