Alpine cross country skiing tours from a wilderness lodge near Whistler, BC

Nordic ski the alpine on one of these cross country skiing tours at this backcountry lodge near Whistler, BC. This lodge is a wilderness adventure playground situated in the Southern Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Canada. Nestled into a grove of old-growth yellow cedars, this lodge is Whistler's only full-service, remote access backcountry skiing and wilderness retreat. This backcountry skiing lodge offers fantastic backcountry skiing and a natural cross country skiing holiday in British Columbia. The lodge offers a variety of winter pursuits.

For Nordic skiers there are miles of track-set classic cross country ski trails surrounding the lodge and unlimited opportunities for off-piste Nordic ski touring. The rolling terrain is perfect for beginner and intermediate skiers, but advanced skiers will not be disappointed by the incredible variety of terrain. You can also experience the peace and tranquility of the Upper Callaghan Valley by snowshoe. Huge stands of old growth forests and powder-filled sub-alpine meadows surround the lodge, just waiting to be discovered.

For the more vertically inclined, this lodge is arguably one of the best places in BC for backcountry skiing. This lodge offers 42 km of cross country ski designed for light Nordic ski touring. Trails are track-set for classic skiing and skate skiing is sometimes an option, depending on weather and trail conditions.

This package includes snowmobile transfers in and out of the lodge. But the avid skier is welcome to ski in and ski out. The average time to ski in is 3.5 - 4 hours and the average time to ski out is 1.5 - 2 hours (it's almost all downhill on the way out!). Snowshoeing to the lodge is also an option, but make sure to give yourself plenty of time. Expect it to take at least 5 hours each direction. For those guests that choose to access the lodge by snowmobile, it is a 45 minute ride in.

This unique blending of the world’s most modern, high performance Nordic ski training facilities coupled with one of Canada’s most spectacular wilderness snowshoeing & ski touring venues offers winter enthusiast the complete Nordic experience.
