The legendary Nootka Sound is among the maze of inlets and islands on the west side of Vancouver Island. Easily accessible from Gold River and the Muchalat Inlet, Nootka Sound is famous for its consistent salmon fishing and amazing halibut and lingcod. This stunning west coast location is on the major salmon migratory routes of the Pacific. While staying at one of the most beautiful lodges on Vancouver Island, you will head out daily with experienced guides to pursue chinook and coho salmon in Nootka's productive and protected waters.
Located on west central Vancouver Island, just over an hour west of Campbell River, Gold River is a charming small BC town surrounded by mountains. It is the gateway to Nootka Sound with its tremendous salmon fishing, as well as close access to the outside waters of the Pacific Ocean to pursue halibut, lingcod, and the famous salmon highway on the west side of the Island. Be on the lookout for marine wildlife, such as sea otters, whales, seals, or black bears that venture down to the shoreline.
There are three beautiful riverfront cabins on the property. Each cabin has three large private bedrooms. The 540 ft2 rooms have two queen beds, a wood-burning fireplace, a finely furnished sitting area, and granite-appointed bathroom suites. You will enjoy the picturesque river and mountain views, climate control & air-conditioning, high-speed wireless Internet access, and cable television. Each room includes a semi-private covered deck.
The main log lodge is simply spectacular, crafted from British Columbian Spruce and Pine, nestled on nearly 1,200 feet of riverfront on the Gold River, and easily speaks to those who know the meaning of roughing it in luxury. Beautifully decorated and featuring artwork from the region, the main lodge is an impressive, quiet, and comfortable setting for your Vancouver Island fishing experience. Relax on the outdoor patio or enjoy a fine meal seated around the outdoor fireplace after a day filled with fishing and adventures.
These amazing saltwater fishing packages are fully customizable to suit your preferences. Your knowledgeable guides use cruiser-size Grady White boats with twin outboards and are fully equipped with top-quality fishing gear. These fishing trips are all about the experience and immersion into Vancouver Island's beautiful, wild, and rugged west coast and catching fish that dreams are made of.
